Why you'd want to live in Ventura
The sleepy beach town of Ventura has just over 100,000 residents and is situated just south of Santa Barbara and just north of LA. For now, it has escaped huge growth and development, which gives it a small town feel. Ventura is broken up into three main areas: Downtown, Midtown, and the East End. Downtown offers a great variety of dining, shopping and entertainment venues along Main Street, including the promenade, Mission San Buenaventura, the Ventura County Fair, and several other festivals throughout the year. Midtown has more historic and hillside homes, which overlook the beautiful beaches nearby, and features most of the area’s medical facilities. The East End has a more suburban vibe, filled with lovely tract homes that call to families and those looking for larger homes at more affordable prices. The city of Ventura is a surfer’s dream, with several area beaches with great breaks! Some of Ventura’s unique and popular dining spots include Café Nouveau, Art’s Corner Café, Café Fiore, Dargan’s Irish Pub, Ven Tiki, Spencer Mackenzie’s, Cajun Kitchen and Himalaya. For coffee, check out Simone’s Coffee and Tea, Prospect Coffee Roasters and Stoked Coffee. For locally-brewed beer, you can visit Made West, Poseidon Brewing Co., Anacapa Brewing Co., Barrelhouse 101, Leashless Brewing, or Fluid State Beer Garden!
